This is aromatically similar to the straight Fixin villages though the toast influence is a bit subtler. The vibrant, intense and better detailed medium weight flavors possess slightly better length though the warmth on the mildly firmer finish is more prominent plus the wood resurfaces.
The Fixin vieilles vignes come from plots of a total of 54 hectare. The soils are stony on argillocalcareous. The average age of vines is 65 years and harvesting is done manually. The grapes are hand-sorted in the winery. Maturing is done on 5 to 10 % new oak barrels.
