Jasper Morris MW: Cuvée du Frêne’. Vibrant youthful purple, I love the perfume of this, evidence of clearly fully ripe grapes without going over the top. There is a lovely racy acidity at the back, the ripeness of the grapes brings out more strawberry notes, lingering finish. Very graceful.
Less impactful than their Chambertin Cuvée du Chêne on the nose, but the palate has superb clarity of fruit with a meaty complexity on the finish. All in all, it doesn’t quite soar as high as you might expect. More time needed? (RH)
