Aromatic and sensual, the 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses (Domaine Louis Jadot) offers up notes of orange zest, rose petals, red berries, cherries and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and open-knit palate that's elegant and ethereal.
Due to the small volume and the necessity to make it up in the tank, the 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru includes around 50% stems this year. It actually lends a touch of pepperiness that complements the red fruit. This wine is well-defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and crisp acidity. It's harmonious with a touch of pepperiness towards the persistent finish. Very fine.
Here the restrained yet ultra-fresh and perfumed nose is cooler still with its plethora of spice, red currant, violet and lilac scents. The super-sleek, lacy and lilting flavors pack excellent punch and an abundance of minerality on the focused and strikingly long finale. This is quite classy and I very much like the balance of this built-to-age Amoureuses.
