Violet, liquorice, copper, bacon rind. The fruit powers like a prop-forward out of the glass, revealing a back row of softly emerging meaty and earthy mushroom character. Lots of potential here, this is only just beginning to flower. (RH)
Wood spice and black cherries and this is as powerful as the Grands Echézeaux but less tannic and the acidity is finer and less evident. This is quite austere and reserved though the length is impressive. A very fine effort with excellent overall flavor authority.
