Pale+ ruby colour with a brick rim. Earthy, savoury, meaty nose with notes of ceps, smoky bacon, kirsch and spiced blackberries at the core. The palate is firmly structured, masculine, with a high level of grainy tannins and medium to high acidity complimenting the savoury fruit. Very long, earthy finish. Needs a few more years to soften and open out some of those more delicate, latent flavours but promises to be an amazing wine.
Fabulous red Burgundy--a true vin de terroir. The pure, crafty aromas jump out of the glass, titillating with rose petal, violet and tar notes. Fans out with the silkiest mouthfeel imaginable, delivering layers of wet earth, chalky stone, black currant and oak-infused spice. The tannins are amazingly classy, so it's enjoyable upon release, but clearly it should get even better in the cellar.
