Here too the ripe nose is attractively spicy though with more earth influence on the nicely fresh aromas of various dark berries, plum and cassis. The relatively supple middle weight flavors possess good vibrancy though the dusty finish is borderline drying. Like the Barreaux, this may well be due to the abundant gas though here it's less obvious that is the potential problem.
Situated next to the Échezeaux vineyard, and above the Grands Échezeaux. From a plot of 94 ares. 84-year-old vines, with a propensity to millerandage. Julie Gros explains their vines show remarkable depth and consistency, year in, year out. Tank sample.
Admirable fruit and depth; spice and dark-red fruit; quite a tannic charge on the finish. A good example from this heterogenous grand cru.
