The 2004 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a muted nose at first, but with modest encouragement it reveals attractive peach, mandarin and subtle adhesive/resinous scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp, slightly spicy entry. There is less botrytis here compared to the 2003, but there is a pleasant grip and vivacity in the mouth with a linear, focused finish that might lack a little complexity, but feels very persistency.
Offers a wonderful nose of exotic fruits, from mango to fresh pineapple, with just a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with lots of fruit and a long finish.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 19/20 points.
