While this classified growth rarely receives much attention, the 2012 Dauzac is a sleeper of the vintage offering loads of black cherry and blueberry fruit as well as a layered, medium-bodied mouthfeel with elegant, pure, well-balanced fruit, tannin, acidity and wood. Drink it over the next decade.
Score: 89-92
Quite ebullient, with an almost-jammy edge to the core of boysenberry and blackberry paste notes, lined with toasted spice, anise and melted black licorice. A solid, rather extroverted style.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 16/20 points.
