The 1960 Unico contains 30% of so-called -outside varieties- i.e. non-Tempranillo. It has a slightly dour bouquet compared to the 1962 or 1964, a conservative nose that is unashamedly herbaceous. There is an underlying scent of dusty attic and an old English stately home. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly pinched entry. It displays firm, dusty tannins and comes across as masculine. There is a little spice on the entry with crisp acidity. It is dusty and foursquare, but there is a core of decayed, dusty red fruit keeping this Unico alive.
