The blockbuster 2000 Galatrona (100% Merlot) struts its stuff in a flamboyant, exotic fashion. Its inky/ruby/purple color is accompanied by fabulous notes of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberry and cherry jam, licorice, and graphite. With superb purity, fabulous richness, and a full-bodied, layered palate, it could hold its own in a blind tasting with the finest Pomerols. This is truly remarkable stuff!

Textbook Merlot, with aromas of black olives, minerals and blueberries. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins and a long, long finish of ripe fruit, raspberries and dark chocolate. The real thing. Best after 2006.
