Words of Whisky (90)

Rather good indeed.
Nose
Clean (no sulphur!) and dry sherry, with a lovely creaminess too, as well as hints of fudge, coffee beans and dark chocolate. Hint of candy hearts as well. Fair amount of aceto balsamico to boot, followed by a whiff of furniture polish and cigar tobacco
Taste
Thick and velvety mouthfeel, with a whisper of aniseed, followed by espresso notes and more balsamic, as well as blackcurrants. Despite the high abv, this is dangerously quaffable. Somewhat astringent and slightly spicy too.
Finish
Long. Quite spicy, and a tad tannic, with a whisper of ashes.
