What a tremendously delicious and interesting wine the 2016 Planots is, a 50-50 marriage of Garnatxa and Carinena from 115-year-old vines that spent 15 months in barrel and another eight months in bottle. A reductive, strong, and powerful mouthfeel is interwoven with dusty tannins, leathery texture, and surprisingly elegant red, citrus-tinged fruit, with the capability to age another 10-20 years.
