The 2018 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru was taken directly from foudres as it underwent a very long fermentation. It has a lovely walnut and smoke bouquet that is very intense and in some ways uncompromising. The palate is vibrant and citrus-driven, with lime and grapefruit notes toward the finish. Superb.

About to be bottled. This has come together very nicely and lost the grassy grapey character. It was complicated to ferment, but they got there., some power from the wood, sound fruit across the palate then good acidity at the finish.
