Aromas of sweet berries, cherries, cardamom and shoe polish introduce the 2023 Blason d'Issan, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and fleshy palate and concluding with a somewhat metallic, drying finish. It's a blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot and 4% Malbec.
This is juicy and lightly jammy with plenty of fruit, velvety tannins and a full body, but not overdone. In fact, the pH of 3.4 gives this a dynamic finish. 49% cabernet sauvignon, 48% merlot and 3% malbec. 13.94% alcohol.
The 2023 Blason d'Issan is a bold, fruity second wine. Crushed red berry fruit, rose petal and blood orange are front and center. A dollop of Malbec adds fruit presence to round out this stylish offering. The intensity of the warm, early year is evident in the somewhat incisive tannins.
