Disgorged in October 2023 with 4.5 grams per liter dosage, the 2015 Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs La Rémissonne reveals a solar, spicy bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, hazelnuts, honey, bergamot and iodine. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it's layered with racy acids and a multidimensional core of fruit enhanced by a long, chalky finish and gastronomic bitterness. Vinified in barrels with no malolactic fermentation, only 2,710 bottles were produced. Kudos.
Intensely flowery with fresh violets, together with strawberries, shortbread, leesy character and blood-orange complexity. Full body with zesty acidity, lime and ginger flavors, super long and silky mousse and a tense, savory finish of strawberries. 100% pinot noir. Disgorged in 2023. Dosage 4.5g/L. Drinkable now but with great potential for developing dried fruits and more complexity in 5 to 10 years.
The 2015 Extra Brut La Rémissonne emerges from a parcel in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ just above the winery. There's real weight and density here. Fermentation in oak (with blocked malolactic fermentation) amplifies the Pinot fruit in this rich, super-expressive Champagne. Kirsch, grapefruit, white pepper, flowers and mint build beautifully with time in the glass, with floral top notes that add a closing flourish. The long, resonant finish is a thing of beauty. Dosage is 4.25 grams per liter. Disgorged: October 2023.
