Produced on the stony slopes of Chile's Aconcagua Valley, the 2014 Seña wine is a blend of the red wine grape varieties Viña Sena's and Bordeaux-style, with Cabernet Sauvignon making up the bulk of the blend, as always. The spring frosts and cool summer of 2013 defined the character of this vintage, which is reflected in the wine itself. While it lacks a heavy body, it stands out for its elegance and freshness. The alcohol content is 14%.
Blend:
- 60% Cabernet Sauvignon
- 16% Carmenère
- 11% Malbec
- 8% Merlot
- 5% Petit Verdot
Each variety was fermented separately, and maceration and extraction were adjusted individually for each lot. Aging took place for 22 months in oak barrels made from French, 67% of which were new barrels, while a very small portion (5%) was aged in new fudras (large oak vats) made from Stockinger. The fudra serves to impart texture to the wine without imparting an excessive amount of charred oak aroma. Bottling took place in March 2016, with 60,000 bottles produced.
The key factor here is the vintage. Since Aconcagua represents the upper limit of the maturation period in Chile, harvesting continues until the end of April, and sometimes even into May; in cooler years, its proportion in the blend varies. And 2014 was one of those cooler years. This wine is best enjoyed by 2032.

The blend for the 2014 Seña was 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Carmenere, 11% Malbec, 8% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot from their stony soils. The different grapes are carefully fermented separately and with different regimes of maceration and extraction but always looking for elegance within the natural power of the zone. The final blend was transferred to French oak barrels, 67% of them new (a percentage that seems to be slowly going down), for the élevage of 22 months. This time, some 5% of the volume carried out its aging in new Stockinger foudres. This is very much in line with the 2013 and the direction set by that cool year. The wine is very harmonious, elegant within the house style. Another superb vintage of Seña.

A powerful, refined and seductively fruity red, with plenty of savoriness to the red currant, plum tart and dried cherry flavors. Asian spice and mineral notes emerge on the focused and pure-tasting finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

Complex aromas of blueberry, rose petal, licorice, and currant. Full body, ultra fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Balanced and very refined. A wonderful purity and beauty. Give it three to four years to come together but already a beauty. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 16% carmenere, 11% malbec, 8% merlot and 5% petit verdot.

The 2014 Seña comes after a frost hit in the spring of 2013 and a cool summer. The blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Carménère, 11% Malbec, 8% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot spent 22 months in 67% new barrels and 5% foudres. Garnet red in color. The nose presents notes of ripe fruit, plum and blackcurrant with hints of herb accompanied by a range of evolving aromas. In the mouth, the tannins are refined and grippy with a slightly juicy flow followed by a languorous finish. An intense wine.
