Pure Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard that was not that far from the fires in January 2017, the 2012 V spent 18 months in oak. It has a well-defined bouquet with intense blackberry and raspberry coulis aromas, cedar and pencil lead developing with time in the glass, although it needs more time to absorb the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit infused with graphite, sweet and a little chewy in the mouth, salted licorice lingering on the aftertaste. It needs 3-4 years in bottle, but should drink well for another 12-15 years.
