Robert Parker (89)

The declassified lots deemed unacceptable for La Chapelle (a smart move to assure that La Chapelle remains one of the world’s greatest wines) are blended into La Petite Chapelle. The peppery 2003 (10,000 bottles) offers notes of black currants, medium body, and an elegant, forward style.

Winespectator (91)

A ripe, sleek, polished style, with winey currant, blackberry and a?a? berry fruit at the core, wrapped in prominent layers of roasted vanilla, anise and espresso. There's a slightly firm, stolid finish, but also enough length and density to merit cellaring in the hopes of more finesse emerging.
