Vinified and aged in 800-liter amphoras; this wine never touched oak): Full medium ruby. A fruit bomb of black cherry, black raspberry, licorice and violet on the nose; I might have guessed Malbec. Then juicy, penetrating and pure in the mouth, if a bit lean. Distinctly black in its fruit character and very dry and tight today, even unyielding. This very intensely flavored wine shows a strong spice character and finishes with big, dusty tannins. I find this very imploded today. Patrick Landanger will bottle this.
