The “Romanée-Saint-Vivant 2024” from Hudelot-Noëllat is made from Pinot Noir grapes grown on a Grand Cru plot covering just 0.5 hectares in Vosne-Romanée, where the vines were planted in 1920 and are exceptionally old. Charles Van Canneyt, a representative of the fourth generation of owners of this estate, continues the tradition of meticulous winemaking. Since 2019, he has transitioned to organic farming, primarily uses destemming, and ages up to 50, 60% of his Grand Cru wines in new barrels. This wine will need some time in bottle to open up, also when opened young it is recommended to decant it, however patience will be rewarded. The optimal drinking window is expected to be between 2029 and 2050.
