The 1998 Syrah Case Via (100% Syrah aged one year in French oak) exhibits a classic bacon fat, blackberry, creme de cassis character, full-bodied, smoky flavors, rustic tannin, and gorgeous levels of fruit, extract, and ripeness. The only flaw in this impressive, somewhat internationally-styled offering is the slightly elevated tannin.
