The 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières unwinds in the glass with scents of pear, citrus oil, white flowers and fresh hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure, it's a taut, precise wine, with a lively spine of acidity that carries through the long, saline finish.
Cask sample. Mid lemon. Rich yellow fruit, apple, a touch of plum and citrus. Cool, intense and concentrated. Real presence on the palate, with fine, beaded acidity pushing on to the finish. (MH)
Here too the reticent if cool and airy nose only grudgingly reveals its array of mineral reduction, acacia blossom, exotic spice, just sliced citrus and tea scents. The wonderfully refined and beautifully textured middleweight plus flavors are akin to rolling tiny pebbles around the mouth on the chalky, youthfully austere and impeccably balanced finale that just goes on and on. As is virtually always the case, this is very much built-to-age and I would recommend not touching a bottle for at least 7 to 8 years and 10 would be better.
