Vincent Dauvissat’s 2023 Petit Chablis, from parcels based on Portlandian limestone, is showing very well, unfurling from the glass with aromas of pear, tangerine zest and dried white flowers. Ample and with considerable mid-palate amplitude, it’s laden with tangy acids and concludes with a long finish, overperforming the reputation of its comparatively humble appellation.
The 2023 Petit Chablis was showing a bit of the wood influence when it was taken from used barrel. That will integrate with time. The palate is peppery on the entry. Fine weight, plenty of personality here with an easygoing open finish.
Fresh pale colour, classic nose all the tension necessary. Clean white fruit with the Kimmeridge crunch at the back, all nicely woven in. Very pretty aftertaste.
