The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a feminine, floral bouquet with gentle red cherry, fresh strawberry and touches of bergamot aromas that are well defined, the fruit succinctly integrated with the wood. The palate is struck with a sharp citric thread of acidity. The tannins need to soften just a little – there remains just a little “blockiness” towards the finish, although there is plenty of focus here. This will probably need two or three years bottle maturation.
