I preferred the 2001 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, however, which demonstrates the superiority of the vintage in its more brilliant ruby-garnet color, its fruit-laden, spicy, and focused aromas, and the greater intensity, length, and weight of its palate, dense and shapely on its lingering close.
