Robert Parker (91)

Offering up aromas of cassis and cherries mingled with hints of loamy soil, warm spices and orange rind, Rousseau's 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Château is medium to full-bodied, lively and nicely concentrated, with bright acids, powdery tannins and a long, penetrating finish. It's the finest rendition of this bottling to date.

Jancis Robinson (16.50)

Cask sample. Mid-cherry hue; very pretty, sweet red-fruit nose. Cherries and redcurrants. Refreshing. Delightful. (MH)

Vinous (88)

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Château has a pretty bouquet with dark cherry and strawberry fruit. Fine list. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, quite tart in the mouth with a hint of sour cherry perking things up on the finish. Fine.

Burghound (91)

Very fresh aromas include those of various dark berries and just turned earth. The delicious middle weight flavors possess very good verve and nice detail on the solidly complex and persistent finish. After an initial period where this lagged consistently behind the regular Gevrey cuvée, it is beginning to round into form.

Jasper Morris (93)

Lots of colour, a sparkle of energy to the nose, all in red fruit, not too obviously ripe, and the tannins remain discreet. A lovely aftertaste to complete a well-balanced wine at 13.2% alcohol.
