Alpha Omega

After growing grapes for several years, planting more than 300 hectares with vines and founding the Tolosa winery in San Luis Obispo in 1998, Robin and his wife Michelle Bagget decided in 2006 to move to the Napa Valley to set up Alpha Omega. But this is not their only endeavor; Robin is also Vice President of Festival Napa Valley and a board member of multiple organizations, including the Wine Institute and the Land Trust of Napa County. While Michelle is the Executive Director of the Alpha Omega Foundation and since 2021 she is also the Ambassador of the V Foundation Wine Celebration Vitner. So, we’re not exaggerating when we say that this duo is 100% committed to Californian viticulture.

They mainly work with Bordeaux varieties, with Cabernet Sauvignon as the most important variety. The plantings are spread over fourteen lots across almost every AVA (appellation) of Napa Valley. The winery's most famous vineyards are 1155 Vineyard, Thomas Vineyard, Beckstofer Georges III and Beckstofer To Kalon. Due to the fact that the winery owns so many different plots, the terroirs vary widely, resulting in different but unique flavor profiles.

Organic regulations and sustainability play an important role, in the vineyards as well as in the cellar, and the winery is officially Napa Green Certified. The vinification of the wines takes place partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks. Barrel ageing and their duration differ per cuvée. The most special cuvées are: OAX, ERA and several Beckstoffer wines.

The 2018 Alpha Omega Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon is the winery's most iconic wine, which has been awarded 100 Parker Points. Other fantastic vintages are: 2013, 2016 and 2019.
