The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon SLV Estate emerges from the glass with dark plums, black cherries, smoke, licorice and tar as well as terrific intensity and depth. It is one of the better and more complete of the 2008s here.

This savory red is laced with dried herb, cedar, berry and spice flavors. Medium- to full-bodied, complex and well-made, if short on excitement. Ends with a drying mix of herbs, hot brick and cedar.
