Luxurious, ripe and lush, the wine exudes black cherries, cinnamon, baked blueberries, cedar and graphite aromas before mouth-coating tannins, deep dried cherry and baked plum flavors fill the palate. Aged in 100 percent new French barrels, the spices are well-matched by the deep fruit. Drink or hold.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is powerful, dark and vibrant from the outset. Dark fruit, chocolate, spice, new leather and incense open first. There's quite a bit of tannin, but then again this is To Kalon. Give this youthful Cabernet a bit of time to soften. There's terrific potential here. Black fruit, lavender, licorice and mocha linger.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is a more restrained, focused expression of this vineyard yet it still brings beautiful depth and richness, Cassis, graphite, spring flowers, and damp earth all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, ripe, polished, fine-grained tannins, and a great finish. Based on 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc, give bottles 3-5 years and it too will cruise over the following two decades.
