Almost more sienna brown than tawny, it not really any red colour left - unsurprisingly. But if the colour is showing the wine's age, the aroma and flavour are still remarkably alive and youthful. Stunning aroma of caramel and walnuts, dark, unsweet toffee and caramelised Seville orange. Amazing complexity and still so lifted and lively. On the palate, age has given it a certain viscosity and the flavours are incredibly intense, sweet but with that burnt toffee and walnut intensity to make it anything but cloying. Super-concentrated and still so fresh. A miracle of longevity. Endlessly long and rich and beautifully balanced.?
