Showing seamless and silky execution and light, graceful fruit weight, the organic and biodynamic Fico Wine 2018 Fico is the best edition so far (with the first vintage released in 2015). This wine is expressive and deep and shows tight textural fiber. I kept my wine in the glass for a while, and it evolved from dark cherry, forest floor and other traditional aromas of Sangiovese to eventually take on soft spice, sweet cardamom and a touch of bresaola or smoked ham. The approach is delicate and unexpected.

A linear and bright red with strawberry, cherry and mineral undertones with a rose undertone. Violets, too. Medium body. Bright and vivid. No sulfur added.
