The fruit has faded to an essence of dried berry, showing more mineral, spice and tar aromas and flavors. Rich and round, still full of energy and very long on the spice- and mineral-infused aftertaste. Mature, but in no rush to be consumed.?Biondi-Santi non-blind retrospective (April 2011). Concentrated and fully mature ruby with a bright, brickstone rim. Amazing, almost powerful nose and sweetly concentrated. Treacle, herb liqueur, mulch and dried cherry. Just a little aged on the nose, but hasn?t lost any of its power or concentration. Still a little holding back, but you can see how this will improve after hours in a decanter. Waxy cherry-fruit palate with almost brisk, energetic acidity. Very fine, velvety tannins. Amazing energy here.
