The 2017 Chianti Classico Querciabella is a bit too jammy and ripe for my tastes. The bouquet delivers robust notes of strawberry preserves and cherry confit, but given the heat of the vintage, it is hard to make out the varietal nuances. I'm just not a fan of the overall ripeness here. An ample 100,000 bottles were made.
This is a little jammy with lots of ripe fruit and both blueberry and chocolate character. Rich and flavorful, but still fresh and energetic. Shows the warmth of the vintage. From biodynamically grown grapes.
