In 1896 Marcel Ott started his wine estate in Provence just hundreds of meters away from the Mediterranean. Because of the phylloxera epidemic the vineyards were cheaper but had to be replanted. Marcel Ott began reconstructing to create great Provencal wines from noble grape varieties.
And now. 120 years later, cousins Christian and Jean-François Ott are still continuing the work he started.
Domaine Ott exists of three estates: Chateau de Selle, Clos Mireille and Chateau Romassan. They produce red, white and rosé wines and each estates has its own terroir and character. Only since recent Domaine Ott started to maken the Étoile, which is like Jean Francois explains 'the apotheosis of the Domaines Ott* terroirs and the most beautiful expression of a prestige rosé from Provence.'
