The 2012 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur comes from 0.75 hectares on what Bernard Raveneau quipped is the “better” side of Valmur. It has a sublime bouquet like the 2013, with grilled walnut, touches of lemon peel, orange zest, almond and fresh pear that unfolds in the glass. The palate is extremely well-balanced and understated on the entry, before those intense citrus fruits explode toward the entrancing, powerful, saline finish. Fabulous.
