A seductive, opulent, textured Margaux with notes of licorice, black fruits, asphalt, pen ink and truffle, this is one of the finest du Tertres ever made. It has a hedonistic quality to it, but at the same time, there is great class, precision and freshness to this full-bodied, concentrated, but very supple-textured wine.
Quite perfumy at first, with lilac, damson plum and singed bay leaf notes up front, followed by darker yet still caressing steeped black cherry, worn leather and espresso notes on the back end.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate edge lightening. Ripe dark berry fruit, some nougat, candied orange zest, floral elements, inviting bouquet. Medium complexity, seems round and sweet, ripe tannins, delicate spice, mineral touch on the finish, already accessible, versatile.
