Beautiful, fragrant aromas of rose petals, cinnamon and potpourri, then firming on the palate to offer concentrated, focused red cherry, iron and red tea flavors. Has great tension, vital acidity and exciting freshness.

Delicate and floral in the glass, the 2022 Pinot Noir Highland Close wafts up with violet and rose tones before giving way to crushed blackberries. It is supple and pliant with rounded contours as tart wild berry fruits are elevated by a cooling wave of fresh acidity. The 2022 speaks more in whispers but has a lot to say, as nuance of lavender and licorice swirl over a bed of chewy tannins. Highland Close is remarkably pretty yet needs further bottle age to find its footing.

Coming from the Chehalem Mountains, the 2022 Pinot Noir Highland Close is a youthful matte red color and offers layered spice notes of fresh red plums, cedar, leather, and fresh earth. It’s relatively full-bodied and has ripe, pliant tannins, as well as a plush richness of texture, with a more introspective feel all around. It starts to brighten up as it opens and might just need more time.
