The 2022 Grand Cru Schoenenbourg is very clear, intense and elegant on the deep, discreet and finely tannic and also smoky nose. The attack on the palate is finely vivacious before this Riesling-driven wine reveals its medium-sweet texture and elegance. This is a highly finessed and sensual Schoenenbourg with rich but elegant and refined fruit. It was bottled with 12% stated alcohol and 45 grams per liter of residual sugar. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.

The 2022 Schoenenbourg Grand Cru was made from two parcels—half Riesling and half field blend. A tender lift of chamomile sets an ethereal tone, tender but distinct. The palate is juicy, beautifully smooth and expansive but vividly fresh, bright and mouthwatering. This is characterized by a wonderfully light touch. There is something playful despite its undoubted depth and seriousness. Its lovely length hints at a great, supremely balanced future. The 2022 is so original, poised and fruity. (Off-dry)
