This wine still remains relatively young, with a dark plum/garnet color, an intriguing nose of black currants intermixed with compost, earth, and a hint of mushroom. The wine is dense, muscular, tannic, and very masculine. The tannins seemed slightly elevated for the concentration, but there is a lot going on here.
A rich, elegant, complex and well-proportioned wine with layers of cedar, p lum, currant and spice that are intense and deep. Finish is long and elegant.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
