I tasted again the 2023s all in bottle, starting with the 2023 Field Blend, which was slightly reductive. Until this year, it was their largest cuvée produced with field blends, mainly Tempranillo with others like Garnacha, Bobal, Albillo Mayor, Pirulés and Malvasía, from their own vineyards, plots they rent or fruit they buy. Each plot is vinified separately, with uncrushed hand-destemmed grapes, and the wine ages for 16 months in barrels of different sizes and ages. In 2023, they increased the use of full clusters to 30% or 35%, going back to what they did in 2021. They also did a strict selection. The wine is very perfumed and showy, juicy and vibrant, fine-boned and nicely balanced. The parameters are 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.7 and 5.11 grams of acidity. It was bottled in January 2025, with 2,000 bottles produced. 2023 was a shorter crop than 2022.
Restrained aromas of flint, red cherries, cherry pits and rose hips. Tightly wound, with a medium to full body, pristine fruit, firm tannins and a textural finish. Drink or hold.
