Rust en Vrede is a historic Stellenbosch estate with vineyard records dating back to the 17th century, and has been focused exclusively on red wines since the late 20th century. The winery is best known for Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and its Estate Red blend. The vineyards are situated on north-facing slopes in the Helderberg subregion, a site noted for producing structured, ageworthy wines. Rust en Vrede gained international notice when its wines appeared on high-profile restaurant wine lists and received strong ratings from critics such as Wine Spectator.
