Robert Parker (89)

The 2013 Vosne-Romanée Village from the Mugneret sisters is still a few years away from maturity, as the first bottle from the case I purchased on release revealed. Exhibiting attractive aromas of plums, red berries and spices, it's medium-bodied, with a bright spine of acidity and chalky tannins that still contribute some back-end grip. I suspect that another five or six years' patience will be rewarded by a wine of real beauty, as those tannins melt away, but right now it's the vintage's taut, tangy side that's still on display.

Mid ruby. Juicy and with real race and angularity without being mean. There is considerable energy here. And it should be worth waiting for. Not big but… (JR)

Vinous (89)

Good medium red. Savory red berries, spices and graphite on the nose; more complex than the 2014. Sweet but harmonious acidity is keeping this wine tight and taut in the early going. Finishes with serious but ripe tannins that will require a bit of patience.

Burghound (88)

A discreet touch of wood sets off spicy herbal tea and red and dark pinot fruit scents. There is a sleek mouth feel to the delicious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by ripe tannins on the reasonably well-balanced, complex and lingering finish. This is a lovey Vosne villages that will require at least a few years of bottle age so that this can further flesh out.
