In 2024, Le Macchiole's "Bolgheri Rosso" wine was launched on the market. This is the winery’s entry-level line, offering an affordable blend of Bordeaux-origin grape varieties that have made Tuscany’s coastal regions famous worldwide. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, these four varieties thrive on the Maremma coast, where growing Sangiovese is difficult. Since the death of Eugenio Campolmi, the winery has been led by Cinzia Merli, and biological methods and new techniques were introduced. In this blend, you can expect aromas of ripe black currants and plums, along with the spicy notes characteristic of Syrah, as well as a softer palate that allows you to enjoy the wine even when young, which is precisely the goal of this blend.
Fresh and perfumed, showing roses, bramble fruit, horseradish and a touch of balsamic. Silky, supple and medium-bodied, with tension and firm structure. Drink or hold.
Le Macchiole's 2024 Bolgheri Rosso is aromatic, lifted and wonderfully polished. Crushed flowers, mocha and dried herbs cut through a core of dark-fleshed fruit. This midweight, understated Rosso has a lot to offer. It's the first vintage that includes a touch of Sangiovese, a decision taken to add a touch of freshness.
