This is the stuff! Esoteric, earthy, expressive and elemental. Dried red fruits on the palate. Long, spicy length with an animal sort of muskiness about it. No uncleanliness – this is very much the terroir talking. (RH)
Jasper Morris MW: ‘Cuvée du Chêne’. Glowing purple, super ripe fruit, some chocolate notes and that bit of wrinkled grapeskin dryness, but a total explosion of fruit on the palate, around 13.5 he thinks. Certainly a massively long aftertaste. I shall be conservative here until we see how the balance of fruit intensity and possibly over-ripe flavours works out.
