Robert Parker (96)

The 2023 Musigny Grand Cru is exquisite, exhibiting lovely aromas of cherries and plums mingled with rose petals, orange zest and exotic spices. Full-bodied, supple and layered, with an unctuous core of fruit, lively acids and sweet, melting tannins, it's seamless and complete.

Jancis Robinson (18)

Cask sample. This is all in the tannins right now. Tannins saturated with intention, saturated with juice, glowing red, studded with jewels. But it’s all about the tannins. The roar of deeply restrained power. The rest of the wine, which you can hear, far away, soaring with beauty and soprano and flowers, is, quite literally, far away right now. Thrilling, in expectation. (TC)

Vinous (97)

The 2023 Musigny Grand Cru comes from three plots, which make 0.67 hectares, which equates to six barrels (since part of the vineyard was removed). The bouquet is beautifully defined with mineral-rich red fruit, hints of forest floor and a background garrigue note. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, the weight and complexity expected from a Musigny and hints of black pepper and black tea toward the persistent finish. This is superb.

Burghound (96)

This elegantly perfumed wine possesses the most floral-suffused nose of the entire range along with a lovely range of spice elements. The suave, sleek and solidly concentrated larger-scaled flavors brim with minerality while displaying focused power on the tautly muscular, firm and strikingly persistent finale that is also impeccably well-balanced. This is a wine of sheer class; indeed the word Zen comes to mind.

Jasper Morris (99)

A huge density of ruby crimson colour with a fruit that is utterly majestic and totally true to Musigny. The glorious dark raspberry fruit fills the middle palate in a way that the Amoureuses did not quite manage, and with an easily adequate structure of refined tannins. Such a velvet coating. This will stay in my mouth for as long as it takes to hurry on to my next appointment. Bravo! Drink from 2033-2045. Tasted Nov 2024.
