Duckhorn

Duckhorn

Duckhorn Vineyards was co-founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976 and became one of the early modern Napa Valley wineries, first harvesting in 1978. The estate made its name with Merlot and Bordeaux-style varietals and later added Sauvignon Blanc and other labels as the portfolio expanded. Duckhorn emphasizes hand-picked fruit and careful cellar practices to produce wines with a Napa expression of classic Bordeaux varieties. In recent years the Duckhorn Portfolio has grown into a multi-brand company and undergone strategic consolidation of some tasting rooms and brands, while keeping core labels at the center of its strategy. Duckhorn’s own history pages and recent company news provide the primary record of its founding, vineyard focus, and business changes.
