A deeply pitched and slightly riper nose carries an interesting menthol note that adds nuance to the otherwise intensely earthy red berry fruit aromas that introduce the supple, fresh, fresh and plum-infused full-bodied flavors that are much more primary and backward, indeed brooding while supported by very firm tannins buffered by ample dry extract. This is impressive but a good deal less expressive at present than any of the prior wines.
