Robert Parker (93)

Aromas of plum, wild raspberry, peony, cherry and smoke preface the 2024 Echezeaux Grand Cru, a medium- to full-bodied wine that is fleshy and demonstrative, offering an open-knit, expressive profile framed by sweet, powdery tannins and concluding with an expansive, perfumed finish. Planted from north to south, the flatter part tends to yield broader, more generous Echezeaux, while the steeper upper reaches produce wine that is more tautly structured.

100% whole bunch, 70% new oak. Cask sample.
Mid-pale ruby. Red-cherry fruit and quite medium-bodied. There is modest intensity to the fruit and palate with a little grip on the finish. There are no hard edges but could do with finding some sweeter, concentrated fruit. Some spice on the finish. Matthew Hayes

The 2024 Echézeaux Grand Cru delivers impressive intensity on the nose in context of the season: predominantly red plum and crushed strawberry, light tertiary scents mixed with potpourri. Just a touch of reduction at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm structure, a judicious pinch of black pepper fanning out with a sense of confidence towards the finish and, frankly, showing the Beaux Monts the difference between a Premier and Grand Cru this vintage. Excellent.

Burghound (92)

An elegant blend of spice and floral nuances adds breadth to the aromas of most red cherry, currant and exotic tea. The attractively vibrant, delicious and textured, if not especially dense, flavors do possess solid power that seems to build on the dusty, long and balanced finale. This firm effort also needs better depth so plan on at least mid-term keeping.

Jasper Morris (95)

(94-96)
Mid crimson purple. The bouquet is restrained though it suggests darker fruit, which proves to be the case on the palate. Quite a white pepper component right at the back but the sweet dark raspberries return to smother them. Plenty of detail here, one of the more successful Echezeaux of the vintage.
