The straight 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape is a superb effort in the vintage. Strawberry, black raspberry, bubble gum and spring flowers are just some of the aromas here, and it has a non-2013 level of depth and richness on the palate. Give it a year or three once released and drink it through 2023.

Features a well-packed core of plum, black currant and raspberry preserve flavors, harnessed for now by singed alder, shiso leaf and anise notes. The acidity is very fine and well-embedded, showing more than enough balance to meld fully.
