Hoë-Steen means high stone, and this 2024 vintage Chenin Blanc, produced by David & Nadia, was harvested from the wind-exposed Paardeberg vineyard in the Swartland region, which was established in 1968. Due to storms during the growing season, fruit set was disrupted, and the harvest yielded fewer than 1,000 bottles. Thanks to the iron-rich red clay soil, south-facing slope, and a large-bunch clone, this vineyard ripens up to four weeks later than the winery's other plots, and these characteristics are clearly reflected in the wine. Aromas of yellow fruit dominate over white fruit, with notes of fennel and lemon zest, and a stony, salty finish beneath a creamy texture. Best enjoyed between 2026 and 2040.
